Who is here for Calculus tonight?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

depends on the calculus

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you working on MIT OCW Scholar Single Variable Calculus?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

whats the question?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you working on MIT OCW Scholar Single Variable Calculus?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just looking to see who else is working on MIT OCW Scholar Single Variable Calculus, but is in the General Math chat instead...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Try logging in to the MIT OCW Scholar Single Variable Calculus group at 8 PM Eastern Time, maybe several of us will start being around that group at the same time. Pass it on...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what exactly do you do at this group??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There is an online class that you can do anytime. The group here is the study group for the classmates to ask and answer questions with each other. But, there are few people there at the same time. So I am trying to promote 8 PM as a good time to find others in the same place.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Lagrange, do you know about this? http://ocw.mit.edu/courses/mathematics/18-01sc-single-variable-calculus-fall-2010/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how do you go about discussing problems, just through chat, or is there a whiteboard type application

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is exactly like this - it is a group on OpenStudy.com

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm, and who decides what problem we discuss, or is it based on some sort of text book

OpenStudy (anonymous):

From the home page, click "all groups" at the bottom of the main group list, and you can look at it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just like in here, anybody asks any question, any time.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So, you ask or answer according to your wishes.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i might do there and school you guys, that is if people actually show up

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I would like some schooling :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah, i will tell a friend of my who is taking calc 2 she was looking for a study group

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There is a multivariable calc study group too, but I am in Calc 1.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The MIT professors are AMAZING. AWESOME lectures.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are they also there? in the study group

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No, at the link I posted above, which is http://ocw.mit.edu/courses/mathematics/18-01sc-single-variable-calculus-fall-2010/ , the entire class is recorded live and posted with lecture notes, worked problems, mathlet apps to demo concepts, and a link to OpenStudy which is how I found this place!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is a FREE online course, anybody can do at their own pace. I use it to supplement my local college Calc I studies because I am nutty that way. :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so, this group at 8 will only be for like calc 1 though right? you problably wont be discussing question like application of integration right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am learning limits, continuity, and differentiation techniques right now. So, I am not up to integration yet.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Except very simple ones.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay, will maybe i will stop

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I am going to try to log in each night around 8 PM NYC Eastern Time. Maybe others will, too. Pass it on. Calc one, we will be meeting up in the MIT OCW SCHOLAR (not 18.01!!) Single Variable Calculus group on OpenStudy.com
