x is less than 3 units from -7 on the number line

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x = (-10, -4) -10 < x < -4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-7<x<-10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-10

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x=-10

It can also be more than -7. The question only states that x is less than 3 UNITS from -7. -4<x<-10

when we go to left from right the value of no. decreases so if x is less than -7 than it must be -10,if it we take x=-4 then its is wrong as -4<-7

-6 is only 1 UNIT away from -7 so it is LESS than 3 UNITS from -7. I stand by my previous statement: -4<x<-10 The original problem never states that the x values has to be less than -7, just that it is less than 3 units from -7. There's a big different between the two.
