give and example of why divison is not associative

OpenStudy (vishweshshrimali5):

See associative property for division should be \[a/(b/c)=(a/b)/c\] right ? now see \[2/(6/3) = 2/3 \] and \[(2/6)/3 = (1/3)/3 = 1\] clearly \[2/3 \neq\ 1\] Thus Division is not associative

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

hello dear ster you have wrote wrong the first example 2/(6/3) this not is equal with how you have wrote with 2/3 this is 2/2=1 exactly like second ATTENTION PLEASE !

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

dear star ! sorry

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

so one example that not is 8/(4/2) not equal (8/4)/2 because 8/(4/2)=8/2=4 when the second is (8/4)/2=2/2=1
