Fun Fact #7 : Do you need to major in a science field like chemistry or biology to get into medical school?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The answer is no. If you like those fields, then definitely consider it as a major. However, don't fret if you want to major in English or Computer Science or something else. You can still get into medical school. The advantage of majoring in a science field is that you will have done all of the pre-medical coursework required for admittance into medical school. These courses include: biology, chemistry, organic chemistry, and sometimes physics. But, if you have majored in something else, you can still take these pre-medical courses and apply for medical school. Looking back, I wish I had majored in computer science or computer engineering in order to apply those skills in medicine.
