I did an experiment on pinto bean plant growth, where I grew 2 plants out a plastic baggie, 2 in an open baggie, and 2 in a sealed baggie. For my lab report, i'm supposed to identify the control group, but i don't know which of these I should consider the control, since I was just comparing them with one another, not against one specific "control". Also, I don't think my teacher will be ok with me saying "there wasn't a control group" so I need help deciding which one to say it was and why. :) Thank you!
control group is where the variables are accounted for;usually, so if you need to write a lab report it is pertinent that you label everything according. If i was going to guess which one is a the control group, it would be the two in the out of the plastic baggie. The reason is be cause one you would be able to say that is the baseline growth, and the other two you are analyzing them with different variables, (i.e, Girth grown in a week in the out of the baggie, compared to the open and closed baggie.) that would be the variable effected. just observe and compare the data with the one out of the baggie. that is the most realistic.
Thank you!!:)
not a problem, have fun. :P
