its says... a jogger is running around a 1/4 mile track. how many laps does the jogger have to run in order to go 5 1/2 miles... i dont get it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

22

OpenStudy (anonymous):

can you divide 1/4 into 5 and 1/2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yup thanks alot.

OpenStudy (phi):

You can do 1 mile: 4 times around is one mile

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so is that what i would put on my answer?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

undefined

OpenStudy (phi):

Nope . It's just an easy problem to help see how to do the harder problem

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay.

OpenStudy (phi):

You could just count. every 4 laps is a mile. or you could divide 5 1/2 by 1/4.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Are you math teacher??.. okay i did that and i got 1/22.. or just 22.

OpenStudy (phi):

nope. where did you get 1/22 ? that is less than 1 lap.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

okay i changed the mix number into a improper fraction then i changed the dividing sign to a multiplication sign then flipped the fraction. |dw:1316648358122:dw|
