can someone explain to me how to determine if two unit vectors are parallel? I'm not understanding the concept

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if they are constant multiple of one another then they are parellel example {1,3} {2,6} =2* {1,3} same idea with unit vector

OpenStudy (anonymous):

where did 2 and 6 come from?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in your example

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh...is this like factoring so to speak?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh, I just made up two vector {1,3} and {2,6}

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so 2 is a scaler of both vectors?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

They are parellel because one is constant multiple of another,2 {1,3}*2 ={2,6}

OpenStudy (anonymous):

These two would be parallel too {1,2,4} {4,8,16}
