solve the inequality 4+x/2>2x

OpenStudy (jlastino):

4+x/2>2x 8+x>4x (multiply both sides by 2) 8>3x (Transpose x) 8/3>x (Divide 8 by 3)

OpenStudy (lgbasallote):

4+x > 4x..transpose 4> 3x... x< 4/3

OpenStudy (jlastino):

I assumed that 4 and x/2 are are separated since you didn't enclose them in parentheses :D.

OpenStudy (jlastino):

So 4+x/2 is one term? Then.... (4+x)/2 > 2x (4+x)/2)(2) > 2(2x) (I eliminated the denominator (2) by multiplying it to both sides of the equation) (4+x) >(4x) 4>4x -x (Transposed x to the right side to combine like terms) 4>3x 4/3>x (Simplify)
