f=9/5 C+5 , solve for C

OpenStudy (anonymous):

c = (5f +25)/ 9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

howd you do that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

c = (5f-25)/ 9 sorry its negative. You need to change it so c is in terms of f. subtract 5, multiply by the inverse of 9/5, (5/9).

For what part... We know what F equals, but to find C, we need to have C in terms of F. That means you need c on one side of the equation, and all other terms on the other. To do that we subtract 5, then divide the fraction out of C. When dividing fractions you can multiply by the inverse (flip the fraction) so we multiply 5, and divide 9.
