How do I graph 3x-2y = -6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

First write the function into a form of y = ax + b

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Can you do that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

could u do that part?

OpenStudy (across):

Do you know how to manipulate equations?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

2y = 3x + 6 y = 1.5x + 3 now y intercept will be y(0) = 3 -> (0,3) x intercept will be 0 = 1.5x + 3 -> x = -2 -> (-2,0) now the "1.5" in front of the x is the slope the slope means for every 1 step you move in the x you will move 1.5 steps in the y direction so if you moving in rising x direction your y will rise for every 1x the y will rise 1.5 for every fall in 1x the y will fall 1.5

OhH thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes write it in the form of y=ax+b your question will become 2y=3x+6 now divide both side by 2 we will get y=3x/2+3 Now, for all real value of x =1,2,3,34,...... use this and you will get the corresponding value of y...and draw the graph with x and y axis

|dw:1317160154596:dw| Y intercept is 3 (when x=0) and x intercept=-2(when y =0)
