OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

Yesh!! where are u stuck?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

There are a lot of people fluent in Algebra here. Just post the specific questions you have and people will help you out.

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

hello?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Im pretty much stuck at the begining?

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

where?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have not seen an algebra problem in 11 years lol Im going to need to start with the very basics

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

do you have some examples or something?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok ummm... (3x - 2y) squared= I put = 9x squared - 4y squared ...is that right?

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

NOpe.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

see very basics lol....

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

(3x - 2y)^2 (3x - 2y) * (3x - 2y) use FOIL 3x(3x) -3x(2y) -2y(3x) -(2y)(-2y) 9x^2 -6xy -6xy +2y^2 9x^2 -12xy + 2y^2

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

lol, yea.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what does foil stand for?

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/FOIL_method

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

-First (“first” terms of each binomial are multiplied together) -Outer (“outside” terms are multiplied—that is, the first term of the first binomial and the second term of the second) -Inner (“inside” terms are multiplied—second term of the first binomial and first term of the second) -Last (“last” terms of each binomial are multiplied

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OGL I may never pass hahaha

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

LOL.

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

so did u get that?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Im having a look at it..funny thing is that the study test doesnt show this as an answer

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

lol, then wht does it shows?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its a multiple choice....and only 1 answer shows 12xy in the answer but istead of your 2y^2....it shows 4y^2 for each possible choice

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its like trying to figure out a foreign language with no intro lol

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

(3x - 2y)^2 (3x - 2y) * (3x - 2y) use FOIL 3x(3x) -3x(2y) -2y(3x) -(2y)(-2y) 9x^2 -6xy -6xy +4y^2 9x^2 -12xy + 4y^2

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

OMG!! i hate when that type of typos take place.

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

SORRRRRRY/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its ok I just wanted to make sure it was a typo for you and not on this prac test....cuz there is a prob in here that is def a typo

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

sorry.

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

do u have moer problems.

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

more*

OpenStudy (anonymous):

basically what Im doing is learning the way to do it by going step for step and seeing how its solved...using some examples...but it will get much harder Im sure

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

yes, it will.. but if u are stuck at any point, you can knock guys here!! ^_^

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I really will be doing that while Im studying for this test....

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

yes, sure..
