Let say you want to buy a new laptop. What are the hardware specification that you need to know? Explain.?
anyone please.....help me....
I'd want to know the size of the hard drive, how good the battery life is, how fast the processor is, how much memory the laptop has, what kind of connections are included, ie, how many usb ports/ ethernet / cd/dvd drive.. etc. screen size is a given... That's about all I can think of right now.
You would also want to know how big it is, how expensive it is, and what OS it is running.
It all depends on what do you want to use your laptop for. If its for gaming, you should look for a strong CPU and GPU. Most laptops, even the one for home use have enough memory, so it isn't a real problem. If the laptop would be used mostly for watching movies and checking facebook and stuff like that, you should look for a laptop, that has a good battery life.
You should know the following things about the laptop: Hard drive Space (500 gb is common) RAM (4 gb) Processor Speed (1.5 to 3 Ghz) Graphic Card /(1 or 2 gb) Screen Size and Resolution Battery Life Weight Warranty Details
Depends on what you want to use it for. If it's everyday stuff, then you're looking for portability, which usually means lower specs. So everything that's been mentioned, size, weight, memory, optical drive, etc. For performance, you'll need higher specs, which usually means more weight/bulk. These include more/stronger CPUs, better and bigger GPUs, more cooling fans, more memory, etc. Figure out the pros and cons of each and see that they are viable or practical for the price you're going to pay. Also bearing in mind things like warranty.
The question is very subjective. As others mentioned it depends on your needs. For a general computer for surfing, using office apps, playing music etc any new laptop is more than enough! Keep in mind that portableness costs! So a mini laptop will be more expensive than a bigger laptop with the same specs and furthermore a desktop will be MUCH more cheaper than a laptop with the same specs.
if it just for home use & net surfing: CPU:Intel pentium dual core RAM:1GB DDR2 graphics:inbuilt intel VGA HDD:250GB or more as per ur demand display:15" for slightly versatile work: CPU:intel core 2 duo RAM: 2GB DDR3 graphics:NVIDIA GeForce130M HDD:350GB or higher display:15" for higher performance & gaming CPU:intel core i3 RAM:3GB DDR3 graphics:NVIDIA GeForce GTX 330M HDD:500GB display 15" so as u see...intel core i3 is very strong CPU,u need CPU more than that for high level graphics designing work only...always keep balance between CPU and RAM both should match each other.HIGH CPU with realtively low RAM & low CPU with high RAM capacity has no meaning and only gives partial performance of both hardwares
I can´t agree with you etrnal.sumit. RAM capacity alone has no meaning if the other components are weak. But CPU clocks do not change anything if you have more or less RAM memory. CPU and GPU has to be more or less equal. And for home use, i would prefer a good Llano. i3 for gaming? Sorry, but its just a wrong choice. For high perf and gaming you should use i5 at least. Only because i3 is a dual core and i5 or higher is an quad core.
