s= 180n-360 for n

OpenStudy (across):

Do you want me to post an immediate, no-explanation, brainless answer saifoo.khan style?

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

LOL

OpenStudy (across):

Is it not true?

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

My answers are NOT brainless. :P And i give explanations as well where needed. :P

OpenStudy (across):

Well, if this guy doesn't know how to solve for n, which should be something second-nature to anyone, why just give him the answer and not walk him or her through it?

OpenStudy (across):

I would understand it if the problem involved solving third-order, nonlinear ODEs.

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

I have just answerd two of her questions... I definitely walk people through. :P

OpenStudy (across):

You did answer the questions, but does sodarocks54 know how to do it herself?

OpenStudy (across):

I mean, you already did two of them, she know how to by now.

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

I dont know... MIght be she is learning from my working...

OpenStudy (across):

Suppose this is your problem:\[y''+y'-6=0,\]and I tell you the answer is:\[c_{1}e^{-3x}+c_{2}e^{2x}.\]Guess I just skipped a dozen or so steps to get there, your intuition about it is still the same, and we both wasted our time.

hero (hero):

Across, did you come here just to scold people?

OpenStudy (across):

Judging from my posting history, it clearly, definitely, no-doubt shows I came here just to scold people.

hero (hero):

Past posting history is not same thing as current posting history.

OpenStudy (across):

If I'm doing something wrong, then by all means intervene, let me know, talk to the moderators. Otherwise, I don't want to argue with you, as I didn't come here to argue with others, but to help them think instead.

hero (hero):

If you want to scold people, or point out what others are doing wrong, become a moderator.

OpenStudy (across):

Does the not being a moderator justify the high-level users' pampering of askers? This argument is not about turning OpenStudy into a government akin to Nazi-Germany, but instead, of encouraging a modest sense to our best of contributors (that includes you, saifoo.khan). All I ask is that we don't just blurt out answers without first eliciting some interaction with the asker, you know, out of courtesy.

OpenStudy (shadowfiend):

Yeah, this is a continuing struggle for sure. We are still trying to figure out how to reward better explanations more, so as to encourage them. We do prefer more explanatory answers, but we don't feel we should enforce it as a rule of the site. That said, I think it would be better for askers if you as high-level members tended to start explaining by default, and when the asker indicates they're only interested in an answer, either move on or just give the answer (depending on your point of view).

OpenStudy (shadowfiend):

We do prefer the community resolves this as a group, rather than a resolution being enforced from above, but we recognize that the tools aren't all there for that to be the case right now.

hero (hero):

Hey shadowfiend, can you add an eraser to the drawing board? It becomes difficult to correct mistakes if you draw something and don't want to clear the entire board just to correct one small mistake.

OpenStudy (mattfeury):

Does the undo feature / select tool not do it for you? I know sometimes the select tool is a little buggy, but you should be able to highlight a specific region and then delete.

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

@across, i do explain people with the methods as well... secondly, about this user, i just answerd 2 answers.. And it has no deal whether my levels are high.. there are other great people who are more smart than me, i just help people with Algebra, geometry and other things i know..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sup saifoo!!!

hero (hero):

I'll explain why we need an eraser: |dw:1317419793651:dw|
