(6z-u)(2z+3u) i got 12 to the 2nd power am i on the right track here ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

u want to multiply the two factors to get a single one?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

12z^2 is your first number

OpenStudy (anonymous):

12z^2+16uz-3u^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did you get the second part from, see that is where im lost at and the foil thing just makes me even more lost

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-u *2z + 3u*6z

OpenStudy (anonymous):

18uz-2uz=16uz

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how about this problem (7z-u)(5z+2u) i get 35z to the second power am i right so far

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so then the secon part would 2u to the second power right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

-2u^2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lost i get the first part and the last part which would be 2u to the 2nd power right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the first u is negative. you forgot to bring it with you. now you gotta do the uz's

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so that would now be 35z to the 2nd power - 2u to the 2nd power then the last part would 2uz to the 2nd power right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no. -5uz+14uz=9uz
