please help! I forgot how to do this stuff. Solve the compound inequality 6b < 42 or 4b + 12 > 8. b < 6 or b > 5 b < 7 or b > −1 b < 7 or b > 1 b > 6 or b < 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

solve separately \[6b<42\] \[b<42\div 6\] \[b<7\]OR \[4b+12>8\] \[4b>-4\] \[b>-1\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so your answer according to your choices is \[b<7\] or \[b>-1\] but in fact your actual answer should be b can be any number, because all numbers are less than 7 or greater than -1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh okay! That was eassyy. Sorry for wasting your time with a stupid problem haha. thanks!!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

where exactly did this question come form because no one on planet earth says "b is less than seven or b is greater than minus one" since all numbers fit this bill

OpenStudy (anonymous):

no problem doing the work is not stupid, but the answer given certainly is
