OpenStudy (anonymous):

why dont bacteria need a nucleus?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Because they are a singled cell organism.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

they already have a nucleoid region.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Its not because they are a single celled organism, there are many eukaryotic single celled organisms and they all need nuclei. It is because bacterial nuclear material (their genetic code) is packaged differently to that of a eukaryote. They have a single circular chromosome, with much less code than more advanced lifeforms. This means that the control and security of a nucleus is not necessary

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because it's a prokaryote, which are single-celled simple life forms with out a nucleus. humans and plants are known as eukaryotes, which can either be single-celled, like amoeba, or multi-celled, like a whale. thay have a nucleus
