A book I am reading (not a math book) tells me that a/(a^2-b^2)^.5 simplifies to 1/(1-b^2/a^2).5. By plugging in some numbers, I verified this, but would like to know the steps involved. Can anyone help?

what is the 5 in the second term? multiplied?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sorry, that was supposed to mean raised to .5 power or square root.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

all of it or just the denominator?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It is supposed to be 1|dw:1317774349176:dw|
