subtract and simplify x/(x^2-5x-6)-2/(x^2-1)

OpenStudy (radar):

Subtracting won't make it any simpler! Both denominators can be factored (x-6)(x+1) the second term (x+1)(x-1) giving a lcd of: (x-6)(x+1)(x-2) when you subtract you then have x(x-1) -2(x-6) ---------------- Then this monster becomes (x-6)(x-1)(x+1) \[x ^{2}-3x+12\over(x-6)(x+1)(x-1)\] Help someone did I get off the path??

OpenStudy (radar):

*the (x-2) in the third line should be (x-1) a typo, it is correct in the remaining places.
