factor by grouping 6x^3-6x^2-x-1

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

Are you sure it's not 6x^3-6x^2-x+1 ?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

or something similar

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sorry you are right it is

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

6x^3-6x^2-x+1 (6x^3-6x^2)+(-x+1) 6x^2(x-1)-1(x-1) (6x^2-1)(x-1) So 6x^3-6x^2-x+1 factors to (6x^2-1)(x-1) In other words, 6x^3-6x^2-x+1=(6x^2-1)(x-1)

could they make it where there was not so many numbers off that back huh? lol

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):
