is "e" factorable? (calculus)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

as in? it is a number just like pi

OpenStudy (anonymous):

for example how would i factor out "e" in this equation so that I can solve for x.... xe^2+e^4=1

OpenStudy (cristal):

You can factor it out of equations just like any other constant.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yep

OpenStudy (anonymous):

e is a universal constant like as tutor mentioned pi

OpenStudy (cristal):

Oh, well that's different. In that case, your equation is in its simplest form.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so in that equation if I factored out "e", what would happen the the exponents of "e"

OpenStudy (cristal):

You can't do anything with it. To factor is out, e would have to have the same exponent.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

got it, thanks
