I understand the derivation of the inverse of sine to some extent, but the last part escapes me- how does the sin^2(x) + cos^2(x) translate into solving the problem cos(sin^-1(x))?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is it the derivative of cos(sin^-1(x))

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes. Sorry about that ambiguity

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is the answer -x/(1-x^2)^.5
