OpenStudy (jessicap):

Looking for the derivative of the function y=cos^4x+sin^4x. I went through the addition rule and the chain rule to get y'=(4(cosx)^3)(-sinx) +(4(sinx)^3)(cosx). Is this right?

OpenStudy (turingtest):

yes it is. congratulations!

OpenStudy (jessicap):

Okay, thanks! What about the derivative of this one: [y=x^2\sec(5x)\]
