OpenStudy (jamesj):

What is an example of a whole number that is not a counting number?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

0 is not a counting number

OpenStudy (jamesj):

ok, is it the only such number?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes.

OpenStudy (jamesj):

If so then let n be the first integer. Then n times zero = n x 0 = .... what?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

n=0, so 0x0=0 nevermind

OpenStudy (jamesj):

No, n need not be zero; it's just an integer. But for any integer n, it's still true that n x 0 = 0
