when referring to the title of a book in a paper, using apa style, is the title underlined?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Titles of books are capitalized according to "sentence structure" capitalization ex. first word of the title, all proper nouns and the first word after the colon if there is a subtitle.

OpenStudy (preetha):

Author, A. A. (Year of publication). Title of work: Capital letter also for subtitle. Location: Publisher. From our Purdue partner site, OWL Example: Plath, S. (2000). The unabridged journals. K.V. Kukil, (Ed.). New York, NY: Anchor. I don't see underlining of the title, its italicized.

OpenStudy (preetha):

OK, italics not showing on my post, the Title needs to be italicized. Example: Duncan, G. J., & Brooks-Gunn, J. (Eds.). (1997). Consequences of growing up poor. New York, NY: Russell Sage Foundation. Consequences of growing up poor: Title needs to be italicized.

A lot of these answers are wrong--they point to MLA style, not APA. Look at a copy of the APA style guide. The Purdue OWL has a short version: owl.english.purdue.edu
