Digital logic - What can we say about A-B=A?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

B is zero.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is it that B is an empty set, \[\emptyset\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

It's not empty. B can be 0.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Still kind of confuse so if it's an empty set A can't be equal to itself?

myininaya (myininaya):

are you talking about sets A-empty set=A if A and B have no elements in common then A-B=A you can say if A and B are disjoint, then A-B=A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think my prof wants me to see how many different ways A can equal itself by making assumptions with B

myininaya (myininaya):

example: \[A=\{a,b,c,d,e,f\}\] \[B=\{1,2,3\}\] \[\{a,b,c,d,e,f\}-\{1,2,3\}=\{a,b,c,d,e,f\}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I got that it can be disjointed and empty but I didn't think of zero I thought zero meant it was empty

myininaya (myininaya):

{0} and empty set are different

myininaya (myininaya):

{0} is the set containing the element 0 { } is the empty set

myininaya (myininaya):

{} empty set means it is set containing no elements

Oh I see okay thank you!
