factor completely 10ax squared-23ax-5a

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a(10x^2-23x-5)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how did u get that answer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you have 10ax^2-23ax-5a, the only term that apears in every part is "a" and there is no common multiple, so you can only factor out the a

OpenStudy (anonymous):

answer is a*{(2x-5)*(5x+1)}

OpenStudy (anonymous):

sheg how did you get that asnwer

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes sheg is right, from where i got, he factored

OpenStudy (anonymous):

he got the factors in 10, 5 and 2 and the ones in 5, 5,1 from there he arranged each one of the 10's with an x and the ones of the 5 alone so that when crossed multiplied adds up to 10 with the x^2 and the ones of the 5 gives 5 as an addition and when crossed multiplied gives -25 + 2 giving the -23x

thank you :)
