I Know i misspelled it i had it right but my computer likes to correct my stuff :D and thank you for the help i couldn't believe i didn't see that until now

The best way to look at these and solve them is to do it in two steps. The first time ignoring the absolute value sign. x+3<5 x<2 Then second, you negate the right side and switch the inequality because you divided by a negative number. x+3>-5 x>-8 Then put the two together. -8<x<2

one more thing |x|<a => -a<x<a if a is positve if a is negative then |x|<a is anther way of saying solve for x so that the distance of x is less than some negative number distance can't be negative so this would have no solution if a was negative
