m+18/m = 5/2
Hi
I know you have to do cross multiplication .
hello.
Well, you can do cross multiplication, but only if you set it up that way
Yea if you cross multiply you'd get 2(m+18)=5m 2m+36=5m 36=3m m=12
m+18 5 ---- = - m 2
I see. Remember me telling you about using parentheses?
Yes I remember.
(m+18)/m = 5/2
Otherwise, it looks like something else
I become stuck at 2m+36=5m . . Yeah I forgot to put it again. :P
But now I understand it. Thanks.
When you originally posted the problem, this is what I saw:\[m + \frac{18}{m} = \frac{5}{2}\] That is why you must use parentheses
ohhhh. Sorry. Again. and one more. 4(d+4) = 3(2d+2) which becomes 4d+16=6d+2 then becomes 10d+16=2 . . Then you would subtract. 2=16?
which becomes -14? then divide it by 10d?
You made a subtraction mistake
Was I supposed to add?
Actually, you made several mistakes
Was I supposed to add?
Oh... -.-
4(d+4) = 3(2d+2) 4d + 16 = 6d + 6 2d = 10 d = 5
See if you can figure out what you did wrong
Do you have skype? I can go over these with you in more detail
Was I supposed to add?
I didn't subtract the 16 and 2 after combining like terms.
Was I supposed to add?
I do. But I can understand it over OS. but thanks.
There are features that Skype has that OS doesn't: 1. Voice 2. Screen Sharing (where you can see me work out the problem in real time
Was I supposed to add?
Mmkay. If you help on this last one. which I think I got right. 5(f-9) = -3(11-f) Isn't it 6?
5f-45 = -33+3f 2f = 12 f = 6 Correct
Was I supposed to add?
I wasn't able to find you
Was I supposed to add?
I think you just added me though.
