\[x^2 = 20\] \[x = \pm \sqrt{20}\] \[x = \pm \sqrt{4}\sqrt{5}\] \[ x = \pm 2\sqrt{5}\] \[x_1 = 2\sqrt{5} \approx 4.5\] \[x_2 = -2\sqrt{5} \approx -4.5\] so the right answer is D
