Does cell division have the same significance in multicellular and unicellular organisms?

Well no :) If you are a unicellular organism and you divide you now have 2 unicellular organisms - So you've reproduced. If you are a multicellular organism and one of your cells divide (which they do regularly) you are just replacing dead/damaged cells (or just growing).
