change the mixed numbers to improper fractions, multiply or divide and simplify your answer. 1 1/3 * 3 1/2=? how do i change to an improper fraction and work this out? thanks for any help.

Multiply the whole number by the denominator (bottom of fraction) and add to numerator (top of fraction). 1 1/3 = 4/3, for example.
The rest follows naturally and you've got it right if you get 28/6 or 14/3
