formula: W (water potential)= Ws (solute potential) + Wp (pressure potential) Question: cell A: Ws= 2500,Wp=1100.. cell B: Ws=-2000,Wp=400.. What is the water potential for the cell A and B? Ans given: A=-1400,B=-1600..how could it be?
anyone can help me out with this question?
should be 3600 and -1600
its pretty simple but i think you meant the Ws of A is -2500, if not then im wrong. But for B it makes total sense that -2000+400 = -1600. If A is -2500 then -2500 + 1100 = -1400
yes..but given ans is that way..and what is worse, there is another question related 2 it, using the water potential -1400 and -1600..that is why i doubt if there are actually any other solution that gives that ans..
cell B..yes it does make sense..but i made my question clear..cell A : 2500.. not -2500..if not because of that, i wouldn't have ask such question..:(
something is wrong somewhere, the formula is clear so either there's a typo or something you haven't been told
u mean typing error of the question?
yes
hmm..perhaps..well thanks for evrything..:)
