what is the krebs cycle?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Krebs cycle is the 3rd cyclic stage in Cellular Respiration It starts off with the 2 acetyl groups formed from the preparatory reaction, 6NAD+ and 2FAD electron deficient coenzymes and 2ADP + 2P electron deficient molecules The output of the Krebs (another name for krebs is Citric Acid cycle) is 4CO2 6NADH and 2FADH2 electron rich molecules 2ATP During the reaction the 2-carbon molecules (acetyl groups) attach with two 4-carbon molecules resulting in 2 6-Carbon citrate molecules. These get reduced stepwise releasing electrons for the coenzymes along the way and forming CO2 molecules.
