When using the Distributive Property to multiply two binomials, how many pairs of partial products will be in the result (before any simplifying)?

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

sorry I misread the question, the question is asking how many multiplications will there when expanding something like:\[(a+b)(c+d)\]this can be written as:\[(a+b)(c+d)=a(c+d) + b(c+d)\]each term will give you 2 multiplications, so you will have 4 in total.
