How do cells get their energy?

OpenStudy (liliakarina):

Through alimentation, there are various types of it. But generally, every life form gets energy with food, which contains proteins, lipids, carbohydrates, etc.

thay get there energy throw food when u eat u only get 10% of it the90% gos to your body

oO to clear things up: the energy we are talking about comes mostly in form of "reduction equivalents" like NADH2, or in form of ATP, which can phosphorylate stuff. these are produced by oxidizing sugars, fat or protein in the mitochondriae. (along with the oxidation of chemical substrates goes the release of energy, which can be bound into labile chemical bonds, like the triphosphate group in ATP.) in short, this is the "energy getting" of all eukaryotic cells.
