Could someone go read through this and give me feed back. If you could correct it too that would be great! Who Is My Hero? The first thought in someone's mind when they hear the word hero is usually a person who is willing to risk their life, time, or personal enjoyments to help, protect, or save someone from a danger or situation. These are some qualities of a hero but there are others that are not often acknowledge but are just as important.

Edgar Watson Howe once said “A boy doesn't have to go to war to be a hero; he can say he doesn't like pie when he sees there isn't enough to go around.” This quote shows just one of the actions a hero could perform that is not often recognized. A hero is a man who does what he can.(Romain Rolland)

When pondering the meaning of the term hero, I have difficulty naming a particular individual. I constantly pan through people in my head seeing if they might be my hero but I never find someone who I feel is good enough to pronounce my hero. By this, I mean a person who I try to base my morals, ways of thinking, and how I solve problems and react on situations. Since I cannot seem to find a human being who has existed or is currently living in this world, I will have to examine my values to create my ideal hero. The values, beliefs, and qualities that would be in my hero are many but there are the few that relate to myself. My hero would have to be respectable to those around him. Inside a family environment my hero would be lenient on high respect. Outside of family my hero would be respectful to anyone regardless of that person's personality and differing values. My hero would be kind to anyone they meet and would not judge based upon first impressions. My hero would come to his occupation ready to do a good job at what they do, in the most real way. These are not yet met by myself but these are the main things I strive to do. I work hard to reach these self-made expectations. These values are made by myself, based on experiences I have encountered and environmental influences. Because of my self-made values I am able to change and strive for one at a time or in different ways. It is flexible and independent.

I haven’t thought strongly about who my hero is and there is a simple reason for that, I don't want one. I don't want to have a dead or live human being as my hero. The reason is, is that this person would not be me and the way I see a hero may be differently than others, it may not. When people begin considering someone who best fits the characteristics of their hero, John Wayne or Oprah Winfrey are a few people to come to mind. A hero is a mold ,such as the ones mentioned above, and the individuals who choose one, tend to fill it. I feel that by picking a mold they are hard to change and even though some people don't feel as strongly towards a hero, others do and those are the ones who will not be able to change their mold.
