0= -3x^2+2x-1 0= -3x^2+2x-1 @Mathematics

OpenStudy (anonymous):

3x^2 - 2x +1 = 0 now solve for x

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Alright I'm trying to factor it out... I'm getting stuck though I set it up as (3x __) (x__)

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

x_1,_2=(2+/- sqrt(4-12))/12 = (1+/- isqrt2)/6

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

sorry first divide by 6 not by 12 than simplify by 2 you will get (1+/- isqrt2)/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't think this is a problem that has a square root in it lol, it's just factoring

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

so but how you wann to factoriz it ?

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

to get those factors you need first to solve it

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well I need to un-factor it I say. so I want it to end up as an answer in two brackets __> ( ) so it's 3x^2-2x+1 so I've set it up so far as (3x ??) (x ??)

jhonyy9 (jhonyy9):

(3x-1-isqrt2)(3x-1+isqrt2) check it please
