when lg y is plotted against lg x, you get a straight line passing through (4,12) and (6,17). so basically the gradient of the straight line is 2.5 I need to express y in terms of x, giving my answer in the form y = ax^b. I've done: lg y = lg x^2.5 + 2. Can anyone help me finish it?? thanks :)

how are you plotting lg y against lg x ? you are tweaking the coordinate axis?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes. we had learnt it during ad maths. Basically by changing the co-ordinate axis's, we can change the formula to make it a straight line graph.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay .. what are the new coordinate axis now ? x= ln(x) and y = ln(y) ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

in that case it don't makes much sense........
