how do you use long division to solve this : y= 3+6x-2x^3. i forgot how to use long division!

OpenStudy (anonymous):

what are you trying to solve? you have \[y=3+6x-2x^3\] which is just a polynomial

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but dont you have to substitute 0x^2 and then find a factor of the equation eg. (x+1)? becuase i dont no how to find that factor.

OpenStudy (mimi_x3):

It can't be x+1 since P(-1) doesn't equal to zero.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea i was just using that to describe the part i had trouble understanding. so you no how you wrote P(-1) , do you have tp substitue random numbers into the equation and then make them equal zero?

OpenStudy (mimi_x3):

lols, yeah i tried but nothing equal to 0 :/

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol okay, well thanks for trying!
