Solve a. 3x^2-5x-13=0, b. find the x-intercepts of f(x)=3x^2-5x-13

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[x=\frac{-(-5) \pm \sqrt{25-4(3)(-13)}}{2(6)}=\frac{1}{6}\left( 5 \pm \sqrt{181} \right)\]btw, these are also the x-intercepts

OpenStudy (anonymous):

lol, the denominator is supposed to be 2(3) not 2(6)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you! I only had one of the intercepts so far, but I wasn't sure if I was doing it right. I had 1/6(5\[\pm\]sqrt(181).

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Oops that didn't come out right, but thank you! :D

lol, np! :})
