Use the intercepts to graph the equation x+3y=6

OpenStudy (turingtest):

what are the intercepts? any idea how to find those?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think they are (0,-10) and (-10,0)

OpenStudy (turingtest):

You find them by setting one variable equal to zero. y-int means x=0 x-int means y=0 set x=0 and solve then set y=0 and solve Now what do you get?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

x=(6,0) and y=(0,2)

OpenStudy (turingtest):

Very good!, but be careful of the notation: if you mean x-int is (6,0) y-int is (0,2) that is correct, but writing x=... can lead to confusion. Can you graph it from here?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes thank you so much
