How regularly does anaerobic respiration occur in the cell?

OpenStudy (liliakarina):

Certain bacteria, do not require atmospheric oxygej for obtaining energy, but they utilize inorganic oxygenated substances -such as \[SO _{4}^{-2}\] and \[NO _{3}^{-}\]- that's why they use anaerobic respiration. A lot of microorganisms survive inside the intestane of bigger animals, burried deeply in the ground or lakes and oceans sediments. Products of anaerobic respiration don't neccesarily have to be water or CO2, other substances can also be a result.

ohh...i see thank you for the response

OpenStudy (liliakarina):

Sure :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so is Lactic Acid used instead for the respiration ( if water, CO2 is not used)?

OpenStudy (liliakarina):

Yes, it is, in some occassions

OpenStudy (anonymous):

wow !!!! gee thanxx :) you're really diligent! i appreciate it!!! :D

OpenStudy (liliakarina):

But products, for example, when fermentation occurs, are ethanol and CO2
