OpenStudy (anonymous):

is this a function -x+y^2-3=0

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope

OpenStudy (amistre64):

depends on what you deem your dependant and independants on

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[y=\pm\sqrt{x+3}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i did write it like that and got it wrong

OpenStudy (anonymous):

not because does not pass the vertical line test

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Does it have more than one y-coordinate?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh maybe i needed the plus minus in front

OpenStudy (amistre64):

x = y^2-3 maybe

OpenStudy (anonymous):

damn right

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hahaha thanks everybody for the help

OpenStudy (amistre64):

vertical line test is only valid on a graph where you have defined the axis i believe

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yeah, but at this level it is almost given that y is depenedent and x is indpendent

OpenStudy (amistre64):

granted ;)
