8(t-2)>3(t-9)

OpenStudy (saifoo.khan):

8t - 16 > 3t - 27 can u solve?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

8(t-2)>3(t-9) 8t-16>3t-27 8t>3t-27+16 8t-3t>-27+16 5t>-27+16 5t>-11 t > -11/5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Partially, I got to -11/5 . I really hate fractions so I converted it to 2.2 .."/

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

-2.2 is the same as -11/5, so either way it'll depend on the book/teacher

OpenStudy (anonymous):

How do I write it in interval notation though ?

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

\[\Large \left(-\frac{11}{5},\infty\right)\]

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):

or you can write it as \[\Large \left(-2.2,\infty\right)\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thank you so much. I get confused with the way I write those ..

jimthompson5910 (jim_thompson5910):
