i know this is stupid but how do i find the gcf of 18 and 30?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

List all th emultiples of 18 and 30

OpenStudy (anonymous):

and the highest number that applies to both is the egcf

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The most basic way to find the GCF is to divide by prime numbers, starting at 2. So, 18 and 30 are both divisible by 2. Next 3, and they are both divisible by 3. Next 5, but neither are divisible by 5. Thus, each of those numbers are divisible by 6, but no greater. 6 is the greatest common factor.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

18= 1,2,3,6,9,18

OpenStudy (anonymous):

30=1,2,3,5,6,10,15,30

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So what is the GCF?
