Does anyone know to draw? I've been forced to use bad keyboard symbols. XD

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I need to know how to draw (you know, be able to display cube root and squares without using carrots).

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

oh I see - you mean you want to learn how to enter equations? e.g.\[ax^2+bx+c=0\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Yes, exactly. Help, please?

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

ok, firstly each equation starts with "\ [" and ends with "\ ]" WITHOUT the quotes or spaces.

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

so to enter the formulae I typed above, you would do something like this:\(\text{\[ax^2+bx+c=0\]}\) try it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

\[ax^2+bx+c=0\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thanks a lot!

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

you then need to learn the various "codes" for common symbols. e.g. \(\text{\[\sqrt{x^3}\]}\) will give you \(\sqrt{x^3}\)

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

This language is called \(\LaTeX\). You should be able to find a lot of information on it using Google.

OpenStudy (asnaseer):

There have also been a series of YouTube videos on it created by one of the members of OpenStudy @mathteacher1729. see here: http://www.youtube.com/user/mathteacher1729#g/c/DD406480D35CE390

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Okay. Thanks for your help!
