why do sex linked traits appear more often in males than females?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Sex linked traits are carried by the X chromosome. Woman have XX and men have XY meaning that although woman have an extra X chromosome: for recessive x linked diseases woman will have a 25% chance of having the phenotypic expression (Only xx will have disease, XX Xx & xX will not). However men will have a 50% chance of phenotypically expressing the gene (xY will and XY will not) If I remember correctly red-green colorblindness is one such example

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because women have xx chromosomes ie. homozygous....means,even if they are affected,it will be recessive and wont be expressed as disease. in other words, they wil be carriers....unlike males

OpenStudy (anonymous):

because nature is against men as compered to women
