Can I study a java programming end if I have some problems can I ask for help?
Probably Stanford Introduction course is based mostly on java http://see.stanford.edu/see/courseinfo.aspx?coll=824a47e1-135f-4508-a5aa-866adcae1111
DO you have a java programming environment set up? I suggest you install the following JAVA jdk-6u23-windows-i586<there are newer versions out there but I suggest you use this for awhile and tell your update manager not to update> Then Eclipse Indigo. First uninstall all your java from add and remove programs then install the Java jdk. Then extract eclipse then go into the extracted folder and make a shortcut to eclipse.exe That is all there is to installing Eclipse. You might also find downloading Apache Ant useful. after you install all of this you need to make environment variable changes in windows advanced system properties manager. make entries in PATH to your JAVA SDK and make a new entry called and home and populate with something similar to this C:\Users\calm\Desktop\Indigo\ant. Use the 32 bit version of all of these and you will have little or no problem installing other IDE/modules into Eclipse. If in the event that you are using a *nix/linux operating system then just use yum or apt-get to install all the necessary packages such as eclipse. There are many tutorials on the internet on how to do all of this. After that you could try codecademy.com to learn the basics of jave from my exsperience though that site has major problems that need to be worked out so maybe just getting the JAVA API and a good JAVA forum would be most beneficial I think Orcle has a good beginners forum
