long way: 4^1+4^2+4^3+4^4+4^5+4^6+4^7+4^8 = 87380 or short way: 4*(4^8-1)/(4-1) = 87380

When you are doing seqences try to generalize the pattern. It will make it very easy for long ones. for example here you can see it is 4^n where n is the number in the seqence
