OpenStudy (cathyangs):

huh? what are the separate terms?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

After 8

OpenStudy (cathyangs):

ah... it's multiplying by 4 each time. 128*4, type it into your search bar.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Ok Ty, so 8x4 and 128x4

When you get patterns like this you may find it helpful to iqnore the fractions first.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

multiply four each time

OpenStudy (cathyangs):

I find it helpful, especially when trying to write a function, to figure out what the 0th term would be. Like in this case, the function of n, the number of term, is: f(n)=1/32*4^n

OpenStudy (anonymous):

this is a goemetric sequence \[\frac{1}{8} (4)^{n-1}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

4 is the common ratio and 1/8 is the first term and n is the number of term
